Honorary Member

Hard working, Humble and Honest. These are the words that come to mind when describing MTMCA Honorary Member, Coach and Relationship Manager for Western Australia, Nick Jacques.
Nick’s vast experience in the tennis world includes Business Management, Player Development, Public Speaking, Sports Management, Team Leadership, Team Building, and Management, Individual lessons, Squad Coaching, Touring with players to European/ITF Events, LTA Junior Team Coach/Talent Scout and Coach Facilitator for Tennis Aukland/Tennis Northern NZ.
Nick has named his coaching philosophy “The thinking C.A.P.” Competence/Autonomy/Purpose. He focuses his coaching to creating a “can do”(competence) mindset for the children, incorporating a pathway that gives them responsibility, choice and ownership of their tennis (autonomy), and discovering their purpose; perhaps dreams of being a top player or just simply to play for fun and enjoyment.
Says Nick, “I have been fortunate to work with some brilliant international speakers and world class teachers. I have had success in producing European and National champions which over the years has less importance to me…..What’s more important to me is not the results of the players, but the development of the children both mind and body. Tennis is a fantastic opportunity for the children to learn how to deal with adversity, learn to be brave and to play a game that can help them build confidence knowing whatever brain type or body type they have they can find a way to be successful in tennis.”
